Hi.
I'd like to ask if there is a specific reason for not allowing one to
set 'Reporter' flag beside "I'm added to or removed from this capacity"
option? I am trying to achieve behaviour similar of default Debian BTS,
which sends confirmation letter for bugs, submitted by me.
Regards,
Sergey.
Hello,
I have some problem with the process kicker.
For example, it takes 99% CPU.
I have about 10 kde desktop launch on the server (ltsp) and sometime the
process kicker is not terminate at the end.
Thanks four your help.
Sincerely,
Jean
All,
I apologize for my absence, but economic challenges demanded my time elsewhere
-- and will for the next little while. I wanted to drop a note on Archlinux
changes that impact Trinity. Specifically the massive transition in Arch from an
'initscript' startup to 'systemd'. I have moved a test machine to systemd.
Trinity (hal) does not start when systemd is used. The problem appears to be a
hang on X startup.
However, initscript behavior can be retained even after the move to systemd
that allows Trinity to continue to run -- flawlessly (3.5.13-SRU). If any other
archer has time, please look into booting to tdm on Arch. Any issues with
systemd/hal should be noted on the hal AUR page. Thanks.
I will investigate as time permits, but I don't foresee much free time for the
next several months. Keep fighting the good fight.

Tim,
you have a plan to rename packages kio-apt, kio-locate and
kio-umountwrapper? If so, will be also renamed GIT repositories?
By now kio-apt/debian/rules and kio-umountwrapper/debian/rules in
tde-packaging refer to tdeio-* names, but changelog files still contains
current kio-* names. That's probably wrong, but I do not know what
version is intended as a future right.

They all should be renamed in the sources. You have my vote of
support to go ahead and do that. Please send a note so we know to
update build scripts. Right now I have to add code to my build
scripts to use a source directory with a different name than the
package name.
I again updated the r14-xdg-update script to include some of the
changes you noted above.
Darrell
In commit 0ab8ac0a I pushed a nominal change to the starttde
script. The change is intended to force run the r14-xdg-update
script even if the kdeglobals key has already been set from a
previous run of the r14-xdg-update script. Hopefully this helps
users avoid the turmoil I experienced.
I presume only GIT users are affected. Any 3.5.13.x users will not
have yet run the r14-xdg-update script because they have not
updated anything.
There might be more rc file changes that need to be added to the
r14-xdg-update script. I browsed the respective renaming etherpad,
but I don't use every single app or feature and there is no way for
me to know all possible changes. The only way is to watch for
anomalies and unexpected behavior.

The proverbial bell can't be unrung. Now everybody plays Keystone
Kops. Expect bug reports to increase.
Seems we should have learned a lesson or two from the qt-tqt
renaming.
I pushed more changes to the r14-xdg-update script.
The starttde script should be updated to look for a new trigger so
users who have already run the script have the script run again to
accomodate the latest renaming rampage.
Darrell
I spent most of yesterday afternoon and today updating my
repository and building new packages for the first time since
January. Late today I updated my system with those packages.
A whole bunch of things blew up.
Launch feedback stopped; I was being interrupted continually by
kwallet/tdewallet, which I don't use; mimetypes were screwy; kmail
wanted passwords; and whatever else I'm not remembering now that
I've regained some sanity and composure. I needed about three hours
to repair the confusion as well as debug what happened. Good thing
I have a good backup strategy.
Everything was traceable to the recent renaming rampage.
The biggest problems were creating new rc files but not
transferring the contents from the old rc files --- or renaming the
old rc files, as well as the renaming of khtml->tdehtml and kfile-
>tdefile.
I pushed patches to update the migratekde3 and r14-xdg-update
scripts. Even if you have already run the r14-xdg-update script
some time ago, do so again using the 'force' parameter in order to
benefit from the latest patch, which will update affected files. Be
sure to do this before starting Trinity.
There might be additional files affected that I am unaware and were
not part of the patch set.
