Hi everyone,
so far donations to the TDE project have always ended up to Tim. Although he is the founder of the project, he has not
really been involved in the daily matters and development for several years.
In the past there has been talks to establish a non-profit TDE organization, but this has yet to happen.
With release R14.1.0 coming soon, I would like to propose for donations to be temporarily redirected to Slavek, till the
TDE non profit organization is established. Once the organization comes to birth, the amount of donations can be
transferred over to it.
A transparent public account of donations could be setup, so everyone would be free to see how donations would be used.
If Slavek needed to pay additional taxes due to the temporary donation income, I suggest those would be paid out of the
donations themselves.
What is your opinion? There is about a month before R14.1.0 is released, so it would probably leave just enough time to
prepare the new setup.
Cheers
Michele
I thought I had read that Konqueror will provide some new sorting
options in 14.1.0.
If correct where can I read about the new options?
In particular I am hoping I can sort with the following alphabetical
case sensitive order when using detailed list and tree view:
* Unhidden directories
* Unhidden files
* Hidden (dot) directories
* Hidden (dot) files
An extra bonus if the hidden directories and files are tinted with less
emphasis to indicate they are hidden.
Thanks.
Would somebody please confirm the following two behaviors?
One
===
* Configure Konqueror to detailed list or tree view.
* Select a file.
* Use the keyboard cursor keys to move up and down the list.
The selection block follows the cursor keys but not the highlighting.
The highlighting seems to follow the cursor keys in icon view.
Two
===
* Create two empty files: 0001 and 0002.
* Rename 0002 to 0000.
Konqueror does not automatically refresh the list to resort the files. A
manual refresh is required.

As far as I can see in my KDE 3 VM, both quirks are inherited from KDE3.
Would these issues be easy to fix before 14.1.0?
Thanks.

TDM login greeter accepts passwd input, but doesn't respond to it via keyboard or
mouse.
Startx does start a functional TDE session.

I installed TDE 14.0.12 on another system. Arts fails to initialize
correctly in that attempting to use media players results in no sound.
The problem seems unique to this system and only with TDE.
I have tried fiddling with the various arts configurations in TCC.
Sound issues do not exist on this specific system with other desktop
environments.
Sound issues do not exist in other systems with TDE.
Comparing $TDEHOME config files with the functional systems has not
found anything helpful.
Any ideas how to fix this issue?
Thanks.

Konqueror seems designed to view everything in an embedded viewer.
I found this bug report:
https://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=768
Is there an easy one-shot work-around to update konqueror so everything
does not default to embedded view?
Thanks.

I am trying to configure TDM.
The default is some kind of black background. The login dialog is so
dark of a gray that I can't read the black text in the dialog. This
seems to be an os_enterprise theme? Is this the normal default?
Using the TCC Login Manager module I was able to get something usable,
but I had to manually edit the tdmrc file to Theme= (nothing) to kill
that dark theme.
The login dialog has a title bar with a caption that says 'Login to
TDE'. Looking at the code this seems hard-coded? Can this be changed?
Seems the caption should say 'Login' or possibly be dynamic to whatever
session the user selects?
Regardless of whatever session I select I get dumped into a terminal
window shell. Seems something is misconfigured and TDM is not sourcing
any xsession files.
Appreciate any help.
