With that said, I am not against supporting OO/LO as long as that focus is tight integration with TDE. I hate the OO/LO file picker dialogs. They are useless compared to KDialog. Menu and toolbar look-and-feel needs help. Tim was working on some of that a while ago but I don't what happened. I think Tim told the LO people the TDE team would maintain the hooks needed for TDE integration.

I knew that all along. ;-) What has thrown me off of that project for a while was the way they wanted it done. Whereas I created a new TDE integration module from the KDE3 sources, they want some kind of hacked-up "frankenmodule" that supports both KDE3 and TDE.
For now I have the patch for the new TDE module (applies against LO GIT) in the TDE GIT tree. I am not exactly sure how to proceed, as I am still convinced maintaining the combined module could be a real nuisance for all parties involved.
Did they give any reason for continued support for KDE3? I doubt even the distros that continue support for KDE3 would keep it once they find out about TDE, since KDE3 will likely never receive any more updates.
