I got past the previous error. I needed a libpng14 patch (http://humanreadable.nfshost.com/trinity/patches/digikam/0.9.6-libpng-1.4.pa...).
Digikam still fails to build.

I fixed the digikam failure to build. Same type of patch was needed as for gwenview (replace all instances of JTQT_METHOD with JMETHOD.).

Somebody please merge the patch to svn/git/whatever.
Anybody building digikam 3.5.13 will need the patch.
