Hello, all.
This is a KDE problem, not a Trinity one, but I know of nowhere else that
would give me a sympathetic hearing. ("KDE 3 is dead already. Scrap KDE 3
and go to KDE 4.")
Bonkers is the best description I can come up with. Applications that were
working fine are suddenly not. (In particular Konqueror, but not only
Konqeror.) Settings change randomly. The latest, a few minutes ago, was my
desktop settings, which have disappeared and the same random KDE one "set up"
for all the desktops (4 - and until just now they all had different
backgrounds). When I went to check what "configure desktop" showed, I found
that my screensaver had been turned off.
The most benign reason I can come up with is that the CMOS battery needs
changing. Something is obviously on the way out. Motherboard also springs
to mind. :-(
It could, of course, be software related. I just can't think what!
All other ideas and suggestions for solving this gratefully received. If the
advice is bin the thing it will only echo my fears. I built this box about 8
years ago, so something crucial dying is not impossible.
It would happen now. :-( I am in the middle of something that is important to
me, and has a deadline of Monday, which I am not going to meet. I have had
to give up driving because my eyesight has deteriorated, I live in the
country and my husband (i.e. my transport) is away for the next 2 weeks.
My, the gremlins are having fun. ;-(

I'm on nightly builds on top of Natty. Some rough edges, but definitely
usable.
One of the rough edges is that the printer wizard has no printer defs.
So the question is, which file or files do I need to grab from my old
Trinity/Lucid installation (which was done from CD, not nightlies)?
Is that even doable? If it was 1991, I could probably just copy
/etc/printcap ... :-)

I think this has been around along time, I just haven't used KDE as a DE, or Konq
as a browser.
The plugin does a signal 11 on flash sites with Konqueror. Can Konq do flash ?
nspluginviewer is a dependancy of kdebase & kdecore,

TDE ... Until now, every time I looked at the documentation, I found far too
complicated for a simple French technician. Beginning with CVS, which I find

svn: Compression of data failed svndiff
"Compression of svndiff data failed!" What can I do with this mistake! The
problem probably occurred on the server, the client must unpack only, I
suppose ... I ask but no matter the answer.
TDE is the system that I use as much as possible (I use the old to manipulate
sounds with Audacity and sometimes to use LibreOffice). I am not using a
virtual machine ... My dream is to compile TDE 3.5.12, on something like Arch
Linux or Suse 10.3, that is: a distribution without SELinux. I also had the
dream of helping the development of TDE, but you will understand from reading
this post that will remain only a dream.
There is no question in this post, but where should I indicate the existence
of this "Compression of data svndiff failed" error? This is not a bug, is it?
I talk about this error here because I noticed that the developers also read
this list ...
I love TDE an thank the developpers for the nice job they have done and still
do.

Hello,
I have installed Google Chrome by downloading .DEB file from Google Chrome's
website and installed it.
Now the problem is when I download any file from Google Chrome than it can't
save. I can click on download link and see Save file dialog box and I click
on Save button and box closed. But I can't see that file.
I am doing save in Firefox and it saves file perfectly.
How to make the save working in Google Chrome?

I'm just trying to figure out how to build cmake based trinity applications
from source.
svn checkout works ok.
cmake is available.
also everything to build kde3/trinity stuff from source (at least for auto*
based modules).
now when I try e.g. to build dolphin from svn (cmake based)
I get this:

I booted the CD, copied the dual-monitor w/Xinerama xorg.conf from the hard
disk to /etc/X11, logged out & back in, and no second monitor or Xinerama.
I'm pretty new to Ubuntu; is there some trick I don't know to make this work?
