Hi folks,
I'm using trinity on a 64 bit Ubuntu precise (12.04) installation and
I want to report a very annoying bug caused by a package conflict of
libogg0 from the trinity repository:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/trinity-desktop/+bug/977103
Since trinity's libogg0 conflicts with Ubuntu libogg0:i386 several 32
bit applications such as adobe reader can no longer be installed on 64
bit trinity installations.
Is there really a conflict between libogg0 and libogg0:i386 that needs
to be in the package definition or can one just remove this tag?
Best Regards,
Stefan
Hi,
I'd like to run trinity parts, at least kpdf, on a machine where I
have no admin privileges (it is a Debian Squeeze and runs gnome2). So
far, I've:
1. downloaded the following packages:
kpdf-trinity_3.5.13-0debian9+r1258283+pr3~squeeze_amd64.deb
kdelibs4c2a-trinity_3.5.13-0debian9+r1261449+pr12~squeeze_amd64.deb
libtqtinterface_3.5.13-0debian9+r1258011+pr2~squeeze_amd64.deb
libqt3-mt_3.3.8d-0ubuntu0+sr73+pr181~squeeze_amd64.deb
2. extracted them using =dpkg-deb -x=: this creates ./usr,
./opt/trinity, etc.
3. tryed to run kpdf:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$(find opt/trinity/lib usr/lib -type d | xargs echo |
sed "s; ;:;g") opt/trinity/bin/kpdf
this sets
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=opt/trinity/lib:opt/trinity/lib/mime:opt/trinity/lib/mime/packages:opt/trinity/lib/trinity:\
opt/trinity/lib/trinity/plugins:opt/trinity/lib/trinity/plugins/styles:\
opt/trinity/lib/trinity/plugins/designer:usr/lib:usr/lib/pkgconfig:\
usr/lib/qt3:usr/lib/qt3/plugins:usr/lib/qt3/plugins/inputmethods:\
usr/lib/qt3/plugins/imageformats
In the end, kpdf is running but:
1. I throws many errors a start time:
1. complains about dcop server being absent: can I skip this? I
found nothing relevant in the kpdf man page
2. could not find mime type "application octet-stream", seems to
be related to
3. then says "no mime types installed"
2. file and edit menus have "No text!" names. I guess I can figure
out why because kpdf is missing its files (i.e., there's no
/opt/trinity/share/apps/kpdfpart/part.rc et al. in the kpdf
scope), but I don't know how to fix it. Note that I copied
~/.trinity/share/apps/kpdfpart/part.rc.
I'd be glad if someone has the willing to help me polishing this! I
really miss kpdf at work!
Thank you,
Nicolas
PS: Would it be possible to install and run parts of trinity from a
fakeroot env?
Hello,
I have a problem with language.
I choose the language for kde to switch between : pt and fr.
It works only for the kde application (not icedove, iceweasel, chrome ...)
I have modify the script startkde in which I export the variable : LANG
In order to obtain the language of kde, i search in the
.trinity/share/config/kdeglobals, language to export the good variable.
But it seems that when we change the languages the kdeglobals files is
modified and the variable language disappear.
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Jean

Could somebody please verify this?
Point konqueror to a site with unknown site certificate, e,g,
http://www.ba-ca.at/
Now the dialog "server authentication ..." pups up.
Click on "Continue",
Next dialog, click on "Permanent".
Close konqeror. Open it again, point it to the same address. Again the
dialog "server authentication ..." comes up.
Nik.

Hello, all. I upgraded on of our Debian Squeeze systems today from TDE
3.5.12 to 3.5.13.1 however I receive a could not start kdeinit error
message. I did search for the error and see a thread which says to
check the libqt3-mt library version but I believe I have the correct
one:
ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.8d-1ubuntu0+ax1~squeeze
There were no errors I saw on the apt-get install the second time. I
did have a problem the first time. I ran apt-get dist-upgrade from
within TDE. Suddenly, my Windows Manager vanished. I let the upgrade
proceed but then it asked for input and I was unable to provide the
input so I exited the GUI and killed the apt-get process. A dpkg
--configure a seemed to complete the installation correctly.
What do I do next? Thanks - John
I did a successful install of 3.5.13 on one of my Ubuntu Lucid systems back in
August. I had a problem with the X system not autodetecting my monitor
properly, but circumvented that by forcing it to the right configuration with
a manually-reated xorg.conf.
Yesterday, I made the mistake of doing an "apt-get upgrade" on that system
that upgraded trinity to what appears to be 3.5.13.1.
Now that system is de-GUIed: if I start KDM, the X server refuses to start.
There are no errors in the log: it just gives up. This looks similar to the
problem I had back in August, but may be different.
I tried installing XDM. That fixes the X server startup, but the system fails
to create the desktop: I get no taskbar, and the system continuously spawns
konqueror instances that immediately crash.
The packages I installed 2 months ago have disappeared from the repository.
The links to the install CDs are broken. A google search for the package
filenames returns no results.
Is there an archive or mirror someplace that hasn't been purged? Or am I just
totally screwed?
Thanks,
Ran
Debian Wheezy, TDE nightly builds. uptodate.
I open a pdf file from the web, 'open with' from the dialog box.
When I 'Save As', I get the following

Hi, here is my problem :I had a Trinity perfectly working on oneiric,This afternoon I decided it was time to upgrade the whole oneiric, including the KDE 4,and since then there is no more main panel bar, or whatever you call it :no more menus, except for the desktop's one, no more notifications, not state icons, etc., only the naked desktop with application icons on it and nothing else.
Does someone know of a way for me to recover from this state ?Daniele
