Hi all.Is there a way to start an UMTS session fron trinity installed on Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric ?) ?I tried 'umtsmon' which worked well, but - on 11.10 - although it recognizes the modem and thenetwork, it is unable to start the ppp session - I can't understand why.ThanksDaniele Manghi
Hi,
I would like to know where to find the configure files for kdm-trinity,
because I will configer KDM for sending xdm broadcasts and allow remote
logins.
Many thanks for your help.
Rolf
I have a new'ish, updated, install of kubuntu (Trinity) 10.04 and I
installed firefox (10.0.2) from the repositories.
When I (attempt to) launch firefox from the "K" menu, or from a copy of
the "K" menu dragged and dropped on either the destop or the quick
launch toolbar (where I _do_ want it), I get this (and only this) in
/var/log/messages:
Mar 9 16:50:56 nix4 kernel: [ 6233.488442] firefox[5703]:
segfault at 0 ip (null) sp bfa57b6c error 4
in libc-2.11.1.so[110000+153000]
(... all 1 line.)
HOWEVER, if I open a konsole window and enter `firefox`,
it works Just Fine.
I've `apt-get`ted -remove(d) -purge , and re-installed. No joy.
I have no such issue with the other installed browsers: Epiphany,
Chromium, Opera, and (of course) konqueror...
Where would I start looking? Googling (Advanced) yields nada.
Thanks!

Tried to install Trinity Desktop per instructions, and retried after
cleaning the Yum cache.
yum install trinity-desktop
Here's the console message:
http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity/rpm/el6/trinity-…:
[Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 416"
Trying other mirror.
Error: failure: repodata/filelists.sqlite.bz2 from

What should I try next?

Is there a okteta-kde3 or the somesuch for Ubuntu Lucid Trinity 3.5.11?
It seems KHexEdit (or khexedit) no longer exists.
In karmic I was using okteta (kde4). But, I also had ALL the bloat of
kde4 on my system, too.
When I attempt to install okteta on lucid, it wants to install ALL of
kde4. I'm trying to keep this lucid/trinity as pristine as possible.
What's your preferred/recommended GUI hex editor?
Thanks,
Jonesy

1. For Debian it works okay to do something like: 'apt-get
install --no-install-recommends <pakage name>'. Debians dependancy resoluion will
take care of the rest.
This method will be the smallest install. You can install meta package
kdebase-trinity it contains less stuff than kde-trinity.
2. There is a amd64 version of TDE.

Hello,
does someone tried to install Trinity on Ubuntu Precise?
Today I upgraded my system from Oneiric to Precise due to new hardware that did not work properly on Oneiric.
Everything works fine in Precise, except the sound. While I still have sound in gdm or in unity DE I don't hear anything in Trinity.
Since the sound works already in gdm I think it should also work in Trinity if Trinity would not touch it at startup. Unfortunately Trinity does. Shortly after the start the sound gets somehow deactivated or invisible muted (in alsamixer everything looks fine, volume is up not muted). However, I don't hear anything and I don't get any error messages). What can I do?
Regards,
Stefan
trinitydesktop.org and ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net seem to be
switching online and offline at random. I am able to access them right
now via Firefox, and apt-get update finally worked, but they were not
responding earlier. Also, ping to trinitydesktop.org does not work,
has not worked for the last few hours, and is still not working. Any
ideas what's going on?

Hi,
I installed Trinity 3.5.13 with "aptitude install kde-trinity" in Debian
Squeeze and now cannot deinstall not needed programs like quanta or the
games without deinstall complete kde-trinity.
Is it posible to install only the needed programs?
What elementary packages are requiered.
A second question: Is there a Trinity version, which is compiled for amd64?
Fine regards
Rolf
