My usb harddrive will not open the plugged media notifier on Precise 12.04
with TDE 3.5.13.2.
If I log out and back in to the xfce4 desktop the usb harddrive is detected
and mounts ok.
I also have Lucid 10.04 with TDE and Hardy 8.04 with KDE3 on the same machine
and the plugged media notifier works ok on them.
On a new machine I have recently installed Precise 12.04 with TDE 3.5.13.2
which installed with no problems whatsoever (Asrock M3A785GM-LE/128M) and the
plugged media notifier works as expected.
On the Precise 12.04 with the problem, I ran tail -f /var/log/syslog and the
usb harddrive is detected ok and shows the two partitions on it as below.

I get the same as the above with the new install of Precise 12.04 but then the
plugged media notifier opens and when I click on ok I get a few more lines of
output and the harddrive is mounted and opens the partitions in konqueror.
Apart from reinstalling TDE default settings and the desktop has anyone any
suggestions as to how to troubleshoot the problem that TDE seems to have in
opening the plugged media notifier on this install?
Thanks in advance,
Nigel.

Dear all,
from the R14.1.x series, double clicking on an empty area (i.e. not over an item) in Konqueror's listview or iconview
will navigate to the parent folder. This is a very useful shortcut when you are navigating through folders using
Konqueror and spare you from either having to move the mouse to the "Up" arrow or using Alt+Up on the keyboard.
The functionality will also be available on the nightly builds as soon as the code can be pushed and the build farm
has rebuilt tdebase. Due to the current r14.0.x building process, the code won't be pushed for a while though.
If you are interested, you can rebuild from the current tdebase GIT code and the attached patch.
Cheers
Michele
PS: it may be worth reminding another new functionality available from the R14.0.x series, which may have gone
unnoticed to most of you. If you are renaming a file in Konqueror using a listview widget (not the iconview - yet),
you can move to the next/previous item using Tab/Shift+Tab without exiting the "rename mode". This is useful when you
need to rename several adjacent files, since you do not need to press F2 -> rename -> Enter for each file but just do
F2 -> rename -> move to next/previous item -> rename [ -> move to next/previous item -> rename --- repeat as needed]
- -> Enter

Last Debian I installed on any of my own systems was Etch, until Friday, when
I did a network minimal, then added TDE. In a broad sense, only one thing
bothers me at this point, no sound. In openSUSE we have YaST2 for such things
as sound configuration, but in Jessie/TDE I haven't found anything that
helps. Trying to use Synaptic to figure it out isn't working, because its
scroller is worthless - it has no buttons to scroll only a line at atime, and
the scrollbar hopelessly overshoots trying to drag or click. TCC's Sound &
Multimedia isn't producing any sound or any clues as to why not. SMplayer
plays video but without sound. Is there some TDE tool not yet installed that
can configure sound, or do I need some as yet undiscovered Debian tool to
make sound work? https://wiki.debian.org/ALSA didn't seem to help at all. :-(

Hi.
Upgraded to Jessie and 14, and everything seems to be working except...
I don't find the "Move file to..." "Copy file to..." context menu item
any more. It used to be under "File Manager", "Behavior", next to
"Include Delete in the context menu", but I don't find it now.
Sorry if this has already been discussed.

In the appearance tab in system settings, under GTK styles and fonts, under
the GTK3, it claims the theme engine isn't installed. I know I installed
it. I would like to get Synaptic to use the right theme because it does
look ugly.
This has happened on two machines, the one we use for a projector and the
laptop I'm currently on. Any suggestions to try?

Hello
I have encountered a problem trying to get wireless going with R14 and
Ubuntu 14.04. I installed it thru the wireless last night using the
mini.iso from Ubuntu. Then the wireless went down.
I finished installing TDE from a hard line. and the internet works
good on it. On the wireless side, the wireless is detected and
enabled, I can scan for networks and it detects my network.
The problem comes when I try to add a connection with
TDEnetworkmanager. It says "Unable to save network connection.
Potential causes: insufficient permissions, network manager not
running, DBus failure" . Networkmanager is installed and I have ran
TDEnetworkmanager as root. Still not connecting.
Any advice or help will be thankful.

Hello all,
I'm runing TDE 14 on openSUSE 13.1
It seems I can't start ktorrent. It is in /opt/trinity/bin, but starting it
from the command line gives:
---------------------------------
It looks like dcopserver is already running. If you are sure
that it is not already running, remove /home/haswell/.DCOPserver_haswell__0
and start dcopserver again.
---------------------------------
kdeinit: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
And /opt/trinity/bin/ktorrent returns the same error. Trying to start the
torent file from Konqueror returns "TDEInit could not launch 'ktorrent'
I'm using transmission right now, because KDE's ktorrent pulls in too many
dependancies. I'm quite sure I have used trinity-ktorrent with 3.5.13.2 ...
