skype and pulse audio

Hi I'm trying to get skype sound to work but apparently the monkeys at MS removed alsa support and replaced it with pulse, which is rubbish. Even though I have pulse enable (pclos - ali's remaster), it still doesn't show up. Is there a fix to re-enable alsa or the like? Kate

Installation on CentOS7

Hi, With a CentOS minimal installation the tde session doesn't start. Installing over gnome (gdm) or mate (lightdm) it works. Any tips?

TDE on openSUSE Tumbleweed?

Hello, I guess François Andriot would best answer this question. I am experimenting with installing Linux on a Sony Vaio Tablet (Vaio Tap 11, model SVT112113CXB ). This has proven *much* more difficult than on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2: - You can disable SecureBoot in the BIOS *but* it is still there! The first consequence is that I can't install Debian! - Other Linux version more or less did install (Ubuntu 16.10, Alexandre's PCLOS, openSUSE) but I everytime has trouble. In the end, the only install that (really) runs well is openSUSE Tumbleweed: really snappy under Gnome 3, onscreen keyboard, it even tries to use the accelerometer and rotates the screen (although in a somwhat eratic way) Now, of course, there is no installation of TDE for Tumbleweed. Would the instruction for 42.3 work? Now, a Tablet is not where I need TDE most, but... Regards, Thierry

Latest on Linux on tablets with (please Lord) Trinity?

Greets, folks . . . I once loved my iPad, but Apple has made me hate and despise it, with constant unwanted terrible updates that remove functionality and have reduced battery life from <12 hours to >3 hours. (IoS 11 sucks so badly that it pulls the branches off nearby trees.) I have had it with the iPad. But I have need of a tablet. It's been awhile since I heard anything involving Linux being put on a tablet; for a time I had a version of Linux running on an H-P Touchpad, which has long since died. The X support was semi-decent -- I had either OpenOffice.org or Libre Office running (very slowly) on it. That was probably six years ago. I kind of hope that some sort of Linux/X development has taken place, but haven't been able to learn much. Anybody know if there has been? And the important question: would it be possible to put TDE on it and if I did, would it work? kmail & mutt ?

Hi all! I am trying to create a configuration for mutt so that it shares the mail folder with kmail (maildir). Has anybody got this kind of thing working on TDE? I tried to follow the lines in https://dev.mutt.org/trac/wiki/MuttFaq/Maildir and http://www.elho.net/mutt/maildir/ , but it does not work in any way. mutt always says "/home/nik/Mail/ is no mailbox". .muttrc is this: set mbox_type=Maildir set folder="~/Mail" set mbox="~/Mail" set record="+.Sent" set postponed="+.Drafts" set spoolfile="~/Mail" set mask=".*" set record="+.Sent" set postponed="+.Drafts" mailboxes `echo -n "+ "; find ~/Mail -maxdepth 1 \ -type d -name ".*" -printf "+'%f' "` Nik -- Please do not email me anything that you are not comfortable also sharing with the NSA, CIA ...

New version of TDE PCLinuxOS remaster, version November 16, 2017

Hi, After a little pause of about 2 years, I decided to put together a brand new version on my PCLinuxOS TDE remaster. This new new version is a 64 bit system, with TDE 14.0.4, a 4.12.x kernel and no systemd. It has an appearance similar to Plasma 5, but with TDE workflow and apps.
