Hi,
I updated a jessie machine to stretch, but tdm did not start, because
there is not start skript in /etc/init.d.
So I looked into the debian package and found out, that there is only a
systemd-skript, but my computer starts with sys-V. Could the update
skript keeps this situation in mind - i.e. is this a bug or a feature.

I am installing the new Debian Stretch on my computer, with
preliminary stable builds repo.
When i try to download the GPG key, i get this error :

I thought this might be of interest to Trinity desktop,
"if there are no activities regarding porting, investigate whether there
are suitable alternatives for your users".
Trinity could fit in there.
Speaking of porting to Qt5, is there a wiki detailing what bugs/issues
there are regarding the Trinity desktop migration to Qt5?

Is there a kind soul in the team, who at last would compile this lib
against the latest Debian binutils 2.29.8 to resolve the outdated
dependencies.

Kensington Expert Mouse:
Lots of info on the net about this mouse, have tried modifying xorg,
.xinitrc, .xmodmap per instructions, button mapping code.
No changes to the button assignment. Control center has a three button
mouse tool, it works for 3 of the 4 buttons.
I am thinking TDM does not use .xinitrc or .xmodmap.what is the TDE way ?

somehow, compiz works on my main user,
but i can't replicated it in a new user.
when it fails, it leaves the windows border less and unmovable
sometimes it gets a bit more messed up with the position that
the mouse can click displaced from the real position of the mouse
by quite a large distance.
At first it didn't work in my main user either, but
at some point i noticed that it worked....
I'm not sure what i did, and can't narrow down the fix.
I tried copying over .trinity, .kde, .config, .cache, .local
various config .files from my home, but still doesn't work....
compiz --debug seams fine....
I'm using the default compiz install of linux mint 18.2
compiz works fine in mate for all users
compiz works only for my main user under trinity
the compiz-trinity packages seam totally broken.
any ideas?
the release notes for 14R.0.4 says support for rar 5.x was added, yet ark
can't open them. It also says something about urf-8 yet 🍇 is not
displayed .... -_- (yes, i'm on 14.0.4)
This has been happening on all 14.0.x installations to Debian and openSUSE. I
know I can lock it down with chattr, but that leaves the package managers
showing what appears to be that tdm latest is not installed, and a would be
tdmrc replacement sitting in /etc/trinity/tdm/. :-(
