TDE Weblate Translation Workspace Available!

The Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) development team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the new TDE Weblate Translation Workspace (TWTW) collaboration tool, which allows users to easily translate TDE strings into their languages and contribute to improve the quality of the TDE translations. TWTW is a self-hosted instance of Weblate designed to manage TDE translations. It is tightly integrated with TDE Gitea Workspace (TGW) and provides: * a simple and clean user interface for working on translations * integrated quality checks of translations * displaying of referenced source files in TGW * retrieving translations and templates from TGW * automatic updating of translations according to the templates * automated committing of translations back into TGW * proper crediting of translators in commit messages * consistent updating of strings from both stable and development branches Thanks to TWTW users can simply focus on the translation work without having to worry about how to get the translation template files, how to update them and how to send their changes back to developers. Even users without any coding knowledge will be able to successfully contribute to improve translation strings and make TDE an even better environment. is hpfax part of tde?

My newly installed stretch/tde logs are being heavily spammed by a task called hpfax. And synaptic says its not installed. I'm looking for a showstopper that fails hid-common , requiring a front panel reset button reboot, 3x in the last 30 or so hours. error: libkgtk2.so cannot be preloaded

folks, getting: "ld.so: object '/opt/trinity/lib/kgtk/libkgtk2.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded" all over the place. just did a dist-upgrade. had to remove 'kgtk-qt3-trinity' which is normal procedure around here. I have obviously missed a step. the directory "/opt/trinity/lib/kgtk" does not exist. where do I find this bad boy invoked? thank you for any advice! f. -- Felmon Davis

With some looking was able to install and use a desktop system (Mate), configure Wifi, the system clock, etc. But I would really like to be using TDE. After upgrade to 14.0.6, kcontrol doesn't allow Administrator Mode

Hi, I've upgraded my OpenSuSE Leap 15 to Trinity 14.0.6, but now I can't use Administrator Mode to e.g. change the Login Manager settings. As a regular user I can start the Trinity Control Center and navigate to System Administration -> Login Manager, but when I click on Administrator Mode I get a tdesu window to fill in the root password, but after filling in the root password it is non-responsive. (See attachment 1.) The problem appears to be with tdesu, because when I kill that, the Control Center window is unlocked again. If I start a root konsole session and enter kcontrol & the Trinity Control Center starts, but has only two components visible (see attachment 2). I also see the following messages in the root konsole window: | █ [tdebuildsycoca] tdebuildsycoca running... | [tdebuildsycoca] Reusing existing tdesycoca. | kcontrol: WARNING: No TDE menu group with X-TDE-BaseGroup=settings found ! Defaulting to Settings/ What do I need to change to get the Control Center working properly? What other information will help diagnose this? Leslie

kicker panel died

Greetings all; I did get it restarted but it was quite a dance. And I think changing the screen background was what killed it. It disappeared when I clicked on apply to change the background. But I just changed the background to half the supplied photos w/o it happening again. But it happened. This might be a place to write a script to relaunch if it disappears from the process list. I hope it doesn't happen frequently. Just saying I guess. Bit of a puzzle to navigate ones workspaces by ctl+F#. Dual booting Devuan and FreeBSD?

Hello, Now running TDE under Devuan ascii. SSD has lots of empty space in which I installed FreeBSD 12 from USB. But it didn't install the boot selection menu. Entered the Live Disk command line and tried using boot0cfg, which created a minimal menu - to boot I still have to keep the USB plugged in. At startup I need to find a way to run FreeBSD on the SSD to be able to install TDE, etc. Any ideas? Robert
