configuring trash?

I expect I'm being blind and it's somewhere obvious, but I can't find any information on configuring trash in TDE. Example questions for which I'd like to find answers: how large can it grow? how long can files stay in trash before they're deleted? where is trash actually located? Mouse too fast - where can I set DPI ?

I experienced the problem after I finally did a major update. Maybe it is a udev vs evdev thing. I do not have this probem on MX (you know, the old Mepis / Antix related distro). Funny thing is I cannot find xsettings or something there. If only I would know where to look I could compare :) There is a EXEGNU LiveCD with Trinity, if I recall correctly it is working well there. Thoughs on mounting of devices on FreeBSD

Hi Slavec! What about this methode of mounting removeable devices on FreeBSD: - add user to "operator" group - sysctl vfs.usermount=1 - add a ~/media folder - mount the device on ~/media/[NAME] (which is owned by user and does not require root password) Would this be a viable way? Trinity Desktop Environment R14.0.7 released, new target R14.0.8 started...

Hi all, if you have not seen announcement, R14.0.7 been released! https://www.trinitydesktop.org/newsentry.php?entry=2019.12.30 All deb packages are fully available, including all mirrors. Added support for Debian 10 (Buster), Raspbian 9 (Stretch), Raspbian 10 (Buster), Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco) and Ubuntu 19.10 (Eoan). For LTS versions of Ubuntu, armhf packages are now available. Building packages for Debian 6 (Squeeze), Raspbian 7 (Wheezy), Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) and Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful) have been stopped. Updated ISO images are available for Slax with Trinity and Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic). https://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/cdimages/ Although changes have been made to the primary archive and the layout has changed, redirects are set and symlinks created so that the existing URLs continue to work and you don't have to change your sources.list. Regarding RPM packages we look forward and hope that François will prepare new packages soon. Now already begun work on a new target R14.0.8. Therefore in the Preliminary Stable Builds apt repository you can soon expect new packages. If you used the Preliminary Stable Builds repository only temporarily, and you prefer to stick on the official final release, it is now the best time to switch to the official repository. [trinity-users] apt-cacher ng pukes with trinity-sb and trinity-testing repos

I need apt-cacher-ng as i build system images (Exe GNU/Linux, Devuan+TDE) but have limited internet access. All repos, including http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/deb/trinity-r14.0.x work normally with apt-cacher-ng except when trinity-sb and/or trinity-testing are enabled. They are configured exactly as per Trinity site instructions and the keyring is installed. Without using apt-cacher-ng (proxy disabled in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/) trinity-sb and/or trinity-testing work. They do work using a (much) older apt-cacher-ng version (0.8.0-3) Is something wrong with the "InRelease" file? Thanks in advance.. tdm doesn't start automatically

First, Happy and best new year 2020 to you ! Since last upgrade of tdm, tdm doesn't start automatically as before and why ? The system starts in konsole mode. I have to login as root and type : # killall tdm and tdm starts. Even if /etc/rc1.d to /et/rc6.d and rcS.d = K19tdm OR S19tdm : system starts in konsole mode. tdm is in /etc/init.d/ I use "sysv-rc-conf" to put K or S. What is the difference between tdm and tdm-trinity ? Thanks and Regards Aandré

trouble with screensaver not locking

Hello TDE users/developers: I am using debian/buster now since it's release. I am also using the "preliminary stable builds" of TDE using the following location: deb http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity-sb buster deps-r14 main-r14 I still have a couple of problems remaining. Perhaps I can get this one fixed first. I have set my screen to be blanked (it can be any of the options on configure - kdesktop). It will not automatically blank or lock. I can manually blank and lock it, and it works as expected. Only the automatic method by waiting a set amount of time is not working. How can I diagnose and fix this problem. I have used other screensavers, and this is the only one that is giving me problems, and this is the one I prefer (from within TDE). Thanks again. Jim Freels, PhD (retired)

Hi all! Does anybody know where tdelibs-trinity-14.0.7.p24 can be found? Sound mixer problem after upgrade to buster/R14.0.7

Hi! After i upgraded to buster two weeks ago, sound mixer applet stopped saving/reading its settings, so every time i boot my pc i am presented with "Select Mixer" and have to set channels again. There is kmix_panelapplet_0evyw8vqwb0hupdm6thw_rc in ~/.trinity/share/config with the timestamp of update and simingly correct values, but its not read or something? -- Nick Koretsky (nick.koretsky(a)gmail.com)
