It has been a very long time since I have tried TDE and decided to try it
again, since I saw that a new version has came out.
I am wondering, how do I import my mail from EVOLUTION that I used in The
MATE Desktop to KMAIL in TDE?
I also accidentally opened KMAIL and added this folder set that I will not
use due to it saving emails in the .mbx format. I'd rather keep them in the
same format that EVO uses, which I believe is MH Format? Isn't that what
KMAIL uses?
How do I delete that set of " LOCAL FOLDERS" as seen here?:

Where in the wiki are the expected build environment requirements listed
(and not out of date)?
I'm am trying to build TDE 14.1.2 on Slackware 15.0 32-bit. Fails to
build because of a "Value too large for defined data type" error. This
seems to be a specific 32-bit error. I have not read anything that
32-bit no longer is supported in TDE.
I'm trying to build 14.1.2 on some vintage 32-bit systems. The tqt3
build fails with many errors and fatal errors. Cmake version 3.5.2 is
installed but tqt3 does not use cmake. While vintage systems are EOL,
R14.0.12 built fine on these systems. So something else has changed or
was introduced since them.

Hi, everybody . . . good to be back.
I've been playing with a Raspberry Pi 5 as part of my better smart
television project. (https://ofb.biz/safari/article/1204.html if you're
interested.)
It did not take me long to rediscover just how awful modern KDE is.
Example: Try adding something to kicker on the PiOS desktop (after, of
course, putting Wayland out of my misery). It is a multi-stage process
with no guarantee of success and considerably possibility of breaking
kicker and other things, which I've done repeatedly.
I was delighted to see today that there is TDE for Raspberry. Before I jump
in, though, I thought it would be good to jump in and ask if there are any
little landmines in it -- the default PiOS is nothing except landmines --
that I need to work around. Also, whether installation will bring along
the applications I've already configured -- Firefox ESR, the WebApp
Manager from Mint (and a bunch of webapps made thereby), and so on, as
well as the GUI configuration stuff and menu items. Not a big deal if it
doesn't, but I'd want to set aside time to come up with alternatives.
What need I know?

This is a developer question but I am posting here as well. Perhaps
somebody can help.
I'm building 14.1.2 packages on Slackware 15.0 using the ray-v build
scripts.
The default in those scripts is not to build any handbooks. I have been
tweaking the scripts to compile the handbooks.
For some reason the related handbooks never compile in the tdebase
package. The handbooks are compiling in other packages.
The DBUILD_DOC="ON" option is set. The tdebase sources contain the
related docbook files. I do not notice anything in the build log, but I
don't really know what to look for.
What should I look for that might cause the handbooks to not build only
in tdebase?

Hi all,
after R14.1.2 was released, the window for the development of R14.1.3 has
already been opened. The first pull-requests have already been merged, new
translations are merged, the first builds of the packages was launched.
If you used the Preliminary Stable Builds repository only temporarily, and
you prefer to stick on the official final release, it is now the best time
to switch to the official repository. The packages in both repositories
are identical for some time, so it is smooth to change the apt source if
you want. Otherwise, we will be happy if you help us in testing the
upcoming release. Publishing the first R14.1.3 preliminary packages I
suppose on 8 May.

KDE3 has a large supply of screensaver modules which I wanted to explore, so
I copied the contents of /usr/lib/xscreensaver and appended the contents to
mine; but they don't appear in TDE's list of screensavers. How can I refresh
the list?

This is related to my gnome/tde coexist question earlier, but nevertheless, a general question about tde.
I am not familiar with the nuances of using the new Wayland X-window replacement that Debian and others are pushing.
I noticed that some wayland-related packages are installed when gnome is installed. gnome and wayland are both the default for debian/12.5./bookworm
Since I normally do not use wayland, but rather use nvidia commercial drivers for x-windows provided by debian package system, I am unsure about wayland.
If I run gnome, am I also running wayland ? Related, if I run tde, will it work with wayland ?
In kmail, Settings => Composer contains "Templates" and "Custom Templates"
tabs, and Folder => Properties also has a "Templates" tab. It seems to me I
remember someone here saying that he uses templates to autofill the To field
of new emails; which of these three provides that capability? The Help
Center manual for kmail mentions none of them, but has information for
a "Phrases" tab in Settings => Composer, which I suppose was superceded by
the templates?
