Window borders

Is there a way to not have borders around windows? Or at least the side vertical borders? I am using TDE Classic Style. When I am reading an online article in a web browser, often I "fling" the mouse pointer to the left edge of the screen to keep the pointer out of the way of reading text. I use the mouse scroll wheel to move down the page. With TDE I can't do that because when the pointer hovers over that left edge window border the effect is to kill scrolling. I have to continually bump the mouse pointer to the right to get off the border. I do not experience this in other desktop environments. Memory muscle and habits are difficult to change. So I am thinking this is a property of twin. Thanks. DA

Is Bluetooth free?

Yes, the songs are transmitted to your headphones, but that's over a paired Bluetooth connection between the headphone and the phone. And there's no cost to that. You only pay for the data transmitted to your smart device over the phone company's network by way of using the app. https://spacebarcounter.org

korganizer bug? Can someone let me know if this works for them?

Hi, According to the manual for korganizer, I can add another calendar ("resource") to my view as follows: Procedure 3.1. Adding a New KOrganizer Resource If the resource view is not available on KOrganizer's sidebar, choose the Settings->Sidebar->Show Resource View menu item to display it. However, when I go to Settings->Sidebar there is no "Show Resource View" there. This is TDE 14.1.1 running on Slackware64. Can someone who uses korganizer (or wants to fire it up) tell me if they see a resource view anywhere. Thanks. Jim

New Debian-based Trinity Live ISO

Hey everyone, I was installing Trinity on a new laptop the other day and realized "Wow, I don't enjoy the process of installing an OS and DE separately". So I decided to take it upon myself and create a live-build of Debian with my favorite software included. So far the website is a work in progress, but the Iatest built ISO is fully functional so far. It is a mostly stock Debian install with Trinity and a few configuration changes for a fully working system out of the box. no tab completion

Using apt or apt-get, package name tab completion works as expected on ttys, but not in Konsole. Is this just me? just Trixie? just Debian? other distros? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. hybrid hibernate/suspend

I have problems with the mailing list, that's why I try it now via the newsgroup channel. Hi I just saw in the trinity powersafe app the option hybrid suspend. Unfortunately the option is in grey, meaning that something is not installed or configured. Does anybody know about this? notification popup icons: just empty white sheet

Hi In Ubuntu 24.04 with trinity installed notifications, such as, «you are not connected to Wifi Net....» Are shown with an icon that contains a white sheet. What pkg I did not install? problems with apt & aptitude

The electric power went out in my building overnight while I was asleep, having left my laptop running, and when I awoke I couldn't boot it up again, but was forced to reinstall my system. (And here was I just congratulating myself on having gone about 8 months without any major changes, much less disasters.) My installation did not go well. Maybe it's because I hadn't done it in awhile; as well as the fact that I am too busy to be bothered with this crap just now, yet I still need a working machine in order to keep my life together. In all, I think I tried 11 times (yes, eleven!) to get my system reinstalled and reconfigured. It doesn't go so well when there are other important matters that also claim my attention. The problems with reinstallation do not seem to involve Trinity as such. For some unknown reason, the XFCE desktop has messed up my settings, so that I was unable to find my network, etc.; so instead, I used MATE to finish the installation, then installed my TDE packages. After I got to that stage, I was back in familiar territory, and all seemed to be going well.... Anyway, so I got it up and running, everything looks right, just finishing up, installing all those other packages that can wait. And now, I get this weird error message: sudo apt-get -f install apt-get: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libapt-private.so.0.0: undefined symbol: _ZN11pkgDepCache24IncreaseActionGroupLevelEv, version APTPKG_6.0 I don't know what this means, and I am unable to use apt utilities, apt-get, aptitude, etc. I can still install packages using dpkg, but without knowing how to solve this problem, it seems pointless to keep on trying to make it work. After 11 attempts at reinstallation throughout today, I am at my wits' end, and really do not want to undertake yet another reinstallation. If anybody knows of a way to solve this issue, I will be for ever grateful. Bill

How did Firefox running in Trinity suddenly become full screen?

Hello, I was in the middle of making a donation to a non-profit, in Firefox running in Trinity, when suddenly, for no apparent reason, Firefox became full screen, and there seemed to be no way to get out of it. I presume I must accidentally have typed some key combination that caused it. Does anyone know what key combination that would be? And once it happened, how to get out of it? I had already entered my debit card details, etc, and now, not only had Firefox become full screen, but the top part of the Firefox window, including the address bar, had vanished as well. The ENTIRE screen was now taken up by the main display area of Firefox. The Trinity panel, which I always have at the bottom of the screen, had vanished, and there was no way to get it back. It was very alarming, because all my debit card details were there in the Firefox window, now taking up the entire screen, and I could not even see the Firefox address bar, to check that the green padlock was still there, and there was no green padlock to click on, to check it really was secure, and it really was the correct website. I desperately tried various key combinations including esc and other keys, but nothing worked, until eventually, possibly ctrl + alt + esc, I am not sure, the x mouse pointer appeared, and I must have clicked on the Firefox window with that, although I don't remember doing so, because eventually that full screen Firefox window started to vanish, and the Trinity panel came back into view. I guess the fact that the top part of the Firefox window vanished as well, so the entire screen was taken up by the main display area of Firefox, might indicate that this is a Firefox issue, rather than a Trinity issue, so this might be the wrong forum. Sorry if that's the case. I have been using Trinity continuously since about March 2017, and I think it's really great. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Thanks.
