Hi
This is a bizarre problem which I did not have in earlier trinity
versions. I use the fn F1 key to silence my audio, but then I have to
use the *kmixer* (either pulse audio or HDA Intel) to reactive the
speaker, the FN keys wouldn't do it, however in earlier version, just
raising the volume would open the speaker, now it does not. Is this a
BUG?

kmix fails to start:
"kmix: error while loading shared libraries: libtdeinit_kmix.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
the library does exist in /opt/trinity/lib , all the other apps with libraries there work fine.
anyone seen this error message, and how to solve it

Like several others on the list, I’ve pretty much always had KMail crash the
first time after launch (that I tried to use the ‘Search:’ box). I needed to
search on something today and it crashed 4 times in a row, *argh!* I type
fairly fast, ~75 wpm, so on a lark, the fifth time I very, very slowly typed
one letter at a time and it didn’t crash. *yeah!*
Hopefully this works for others...
Best,
Michael

Anyone have any personal experience with a pure Linux replacement for
QuickBooks? My needs are from a sole proprietor standpoint, not that a full
up corporate accounting capable solution isn’t acceptable.
I’ve search-fu’ed several options, but I’d rather hear what people who’ve
actually used them have to say about them.
Thanks,
Michael

I use tdewalletmanager as a convenience to store my passwords for kmail and
konqueror (fish:). Last night I refreshed my Trinity installation, and
everything was working fine (through several login/logout iterations), but
the second time I logged in today, suddenly tdewalletmanager didn't start,
and kmail prompted me for my mail service passwords.
I shut down kmail, then tried to start tdewalletmanager, but it would not
start from the menu or the command line. I was able to start it by
using 'open with...' in konqueror on kdewallet.kwl, but though the file is
1.3K, kwallet manager shows no file tree! It appears that tdewalletmanager
can no longer read my wallet files.
I noticed that the privileges for that file were set to -rw-rw-rw- and set
them to -rw------ in case that was an issue, but that didn't help, though now
I can start tdewalletmanager from the command line.
What should I do to find out what's gone wrong?
Leslie

folks,
I can't get back into the desktop, been having file system problems so
this is likely related but for now I just want back to the desktop
however fragile.
I get an error message after entering username and password:
"There was an error setting up inter-process comunication for TDE."
then:
"could not read network connection list
check dcopserver is running"
then if I press 'ok' I get:
"could not start tdeinit. Check your installation."
I have tried removing the .ICEauthority and other .dcop stuff from the
home directory.
the system is on Buster. I just did the latest upgrade several days
ago. (the file system problems started earlier; occasionally
'read-only' system so have to run fsck.)
ssd, kinda of aged.
grateful for tips.

In TDE-Components -> Session Manager -> Applications to be excluded, are the
application names the actual names of the binary files, or the names of the
entries in TDE Menu? Or either?

Thank you for your reply. I've tried to subscribe the new Email
address without any success.
I've kept the old details so I can still post and receive posts.
