Hi. On my oneiric/trinity /opt/trinity/bin/kcmshell displayconfigcrashes when trying to save the gamma and display color balance.I see the changes on display (e.g. less saturated blue) but I am not able to save them. Daniele

Page layout problems with the TDE interface for LibreOffice 3.6

Hello everyone, For my LibreOffice remaster, I did a nice welcome PDF file with pictures and instructions to put on the desktop of the LiveCD. I did it with LibreOffice on my PCLOS 2012 TDE remaster. I wrote the file, saved it and exported it to PDF. When I opened the PDF file, it looked right as it should, but I wanted to change something in it. So, when I re-opened my .odt LibreOffice file, all of the images that were cropped weren't cropped at the same place and their width and height had changed. I had some arrows to point icons on the pictures and they weren't too at the right place. To check if it wasn't just a bug on my remaster, I opened the file on my regular PC with PCLOS 2012 KDE edition. Te text appeared in the wrong way, exactly as it appeared when I have re-opened my file on the TDE system. To see if it was a PCLinuxOS-related bug, I have put back the formatting as it should for a part of my file, saved and re-opened it. The text was as it should were I have re-made the formatting... All this to say that I think that there is some bugs related to the TDE interface used in LibreOffice. Can I force LibreOffice to use the GTK2 interface (and how?), as is used on all KDE4 systems. Since I use the QTCurve theme with QT3, QT4 and GTK2, it would still be well-integrated. Thank you in advance! -Alexandre

I'm including a screenshots of inkscape. Yes they do run PCLOS just fine, but not with kde4. Usually it crashes. This doesn't happen with kde3, tde, gnome3 and E17. I do notice that kde4 eats a large amount of ram. Most of the machines have 2 gigs or more, the rest have 4 gigs or more. So it's not a ram problem. Regardless I'd love to do a complete and clean install of a TDE based PCLOS install. I document everything from beginning to end and then later use it to create an install guide. Thanks again Kate

Informations about kicker and RAM

Hello, I would like to know how process kicker should be execut by session. And i would like to know if this process could use much ram. For example, i have a process which use 20% RAM (Total of ram 6GO) I use KDE Trinity on DEbian Squeeze (TDE 3.5.13) Thanks for your help. Kubuntu 12.04 TDE installation CD

Hi, I've been using Kubuntu 10.10 TDE and want to upgrade to Kubuntu 12.04 (LTS) TDE. How can I replace KDE 4 on Kubuntu 12.04 installation cd with TDE ? Haven't found anything regarding this topic on trinity site. Thanks, robert

Install fails on Ubuntu 12.04

As the subject says, I can't seem to install TDE on Ubuntu 12.04. One of the last messages while installing is this: "Setting up kde-guidance-trinity (4:3.5.13-1ubuntu0+ax0~precise) ... During install I chose kdm over lightdm. I can login ok, but I still get the Unity desktop. What can I do to rectify this? Thanks for any hints, Mike

A functional TDE distribution...

Hello all, I use OSS 11.1 + KDE3.5.12, installed from a live CD. The motherboard of the computer is based on an AMD 64-bit, and has about 6 years of age. My recent installation attempts are - OSS 12.1 + KDE3 - OSS 12.2 Minimum, - Exegnulinux_3.3. All have failed. All seem to have problems with the configuration screen: can not use the screen in 1280x1024 resolution (graphics card is ATI 350AV [Radeon 9600])! I remember trying with almost complete success, a UBUNTU + Trinity (dated March 2011). It came to use 100% CPU for no reason, and that research in files on disk 500GB were going badly with Konqueror. I left it when I found the Live CD 11.1+kde3 (I am still using). Westurday morning, I tried exegnulinux_3.3. I did not succeed. A 1360x768 screen has been proposed (not 1380, but 1360!), Then, once in this mode and after restarting the configuration tool, a 1380x1024 screen, but can not complete the setting because the "configuration tool work in graphical mode and if you stop the monitor or the card, this tool can not work "or something like that! In addition, the installation on a USB key failed. The last distribution tryed (just now) was Fedora-17 (07/2012), a live TDE CD that is doing the best by far. But here, at the time of installation: - Unable to change (select any other) disk to install the boot loader - Can not format in an other format than ext4 (no ReiserFS). - Alert at end of installation: "Can not install the boot loader". The cd that I used to boot one of my systems using GRUB1 do not know Ext4. Consequently to boot Fedora is IMPOSSIBLE! Finally, I feel very overtaken by my readings in this list for the USERS, which speaks so much of INSTALLATION SCRIPTS. And if I well understand, a lot of things changed in Linux: XWindow, SytV init, Grub, give up of reiserfs for Ext4, KDE4 & Gnome3, sound system, etc, etc... My question is: OpenSuse is now made so low that I MUST DROP this distribution. Direct me to what? Thank you very much for your work and help.

Trinity packages for PCLinuxOS 2012

Hello everyone, I tried the Fedora LiveCD and I am very impressed with it. I would like to install TDE on my PCLinuxOS 2012 system to make a remaster that use TDE. With proper mods, it can look almost as good as KDE4 while being so much faster and using less memory. By using oxygen icon theme and similar color theme, with the new Ubuntu font, as in PCLinuxOS 2012 KDE edition, it looks awesome! It would be very appreciated to have packages for PCLinuxOS. Thank you for making KDE3 living again! -Alex
