I don't understand. It's clear that Exe
doesn't have drivers for many sound
cards & wifi cards. But, are you saying that regular Debian Jessie with TDE
installed later will provide drivers for most sound cards & wifi cards?

My Jessie with TDE14 Just Worked. But you won't get sound and wi-fi with
Exe.
Exe is all free (as in beer). Install Jessie, then TDE.
