It's just the first user on devuan/debian gets UID 1000, the next 1001 and so on. On
FreeBSD the first is 1001 ...
ANd some users really know their numerical UID by heart.

$ ll /run/user/1000/dconf/user
-rw------- 1 nik nik 2 25. Jul 17:26 /run/user/1000/dconf/user
But is the relevant user always numbered 1000?
