I tried exporting the environment variable in
~/.profile, logged out,
logged back in, and ran the relevant program from the menu; it behaved as
if the environment variable was not set.
Did the same with ~/.bashrc, with the same result.
TDE as it was in KDE3 does not read the environment variables from the shell
AFAIR.
I don't know about ~/.trinity/env/ although I have a shell script there from
2015 that sets some keycodes. Unfortunately I do not remember anything
about it :/
