I just tried to install R14 on a clean installation of debian jessy, with little success:
It failed due to binutils requirements. Is there a timeframe for this to be resolved?

binutils 2.24-2 is in both wheezy and sid at the moment. This week's R14
is running here on sid. Are you sure you are properly dist-upgraded?
