Sadly i not use yahoo, so i cant help you on specifics.
I dont know if you test name resolution and other network issues first(
host xxxx), ip reaching (ping / traceroute), hand login (openssl
s_client -connect
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx:995 -crlf -quiet).
In general is good idea search for any type of error message. Sometimes
if you
launch the program from a console you get messages that becomes hidden
normally.
You mention thunderbird, thunderbird works: In the same computer
with same OS?
Or work another computer in the office?

Kmail receives mail(a)yahoo.com
