Update: I uninstalled everything I installed, and
rolled back the few
things that were upgraded, and the icon is still messed
up. I even tried the 486 kernel. So, what exactly is going on here?

have you tried to remove (purge) and reinstall NetworkManager?
Perhaps when you mixed wheezy and squeze packages (as you mentioned), the icon was
overwritten. Removing those changes would not restore the original icon, but if that was
the problem, reinstalling NM may fix it.
