I finally got Trinity installed, the package download took 90 minutes (I'm assuming the server is still being throttled by traffic) and it looks good. I am working through various things so I can set Cobber-Trinity up for end users in Australasia. So I have some questions.
- I want to set the background (and other visual settings) via
/etc/skel/ so that each new user automatically has a certain background (national flag), theme, desktop icons, menu type, etc.. What is the settings file(s) in TDE to accomplish this, and where is it located in the users home directory?
HI Michael, I am not on a TDE machine now, so my answer will be somehow incomplete. Configuration files in Trinity are usually in 2 locations: 1) /opt/trinity/share/ 2) ~/.trinity/share/ There are several subfolders. Look in apps, config and applications. For the background, by memory I think the location is the config/kdesktoprc file. Also have a look at bug 1684 (again, by memory but should be right). The bug has been resolved, but there is some useful info to read in the comments, especially if you are using multiple displays.
- There doesn't appear to be a setting for touchpads to work like
mice (e.g. touchpad tap opens file like a left click opens a file). Is there a settings or settings file somewhere that can accomplish this?
I do not recall anything specific in TDE for touchpad. Having said that, I think it might be more a touchpad configuration issue within X than a DE issue.
I'm sure I'll have more questions but this will do for the moment.
Cheers. Michael.
