open them and extract the relevent pieces to use on a command line (or use to

Note: After modifying the location where the TDE
sources.list is to fit
your distribution, the ‘tde.pm’ file included will install TDE on any
Debian based system.

Sounds good, but it's not clear to me where to put these scripts so that
they will be read. I would guess that you mean on my machine, or on a
removable device that can be read during installation?
