IMO there is nothing that would break the system
startup. what
happens if you boot in single user or use
init=/lib/sysvinit/init
perhaps systemd can't start something and
hangs.
The fasted solution is to restart the installation, the question
then is, when trying to install trinity and running into a
conflict, are there better solutions, than the one offered by
aptitude?
Why did apt-get abort?
I use debian - no idea how it works with ubuntu. As you see you were missing
a package - open a 2nd console and install the missing package. Exit
aptitude and start upgrade again. This is what I would do.
I have also never used aptitude, I used apt-get and it worked all the time.
