Re: [trinity-users] dependency to deprecated hal package

Hello, I recently upgraded to Ubuntu trusty and discovered some problems with hal. I read that hal is deprecated and that I have to purge the package in order to get rid of the problems. Unfortunately kdebase-kio-plugins-trinity depends on hal, because of some hotplug/automount features I could easily give up on the hotplug/automount feature. But kdebase-kio-plugins-trinity contains also the protocol support for ftp, http, ... - essential parts of trinity. What's the future of this package? Is it possible to convert the "strong dependency" to hal into a "package suggestion" and to eventually implement some fallback strategies if hal is not available (just deactivating all hal features)?
