Does nfs://<address> work from the location bar?
no
I don't know nfs or what's required configuration wise, but nfs://<server>[:port][/<directory] should work.
does not. ACtually, the : before the /<directory> gets removed
This link is taken from /etc/fstab and the "shortcut" is a special TDE link (right click on the desktop - create new -> link to device -> nfs)
Do the links show up in Konqueror > Go > Storage Media (Location: media:/) with right click (un)mount options?
Ha! Yes they do but:
- using konqueror as user when clicking the link, nothing visible happen, but the shares does mount. The same link in Storage Media however can't umount.
- using konqueror as root ("FileManager - Super User Mode") it works, or rather "sort of". I can mount, then umount, then it stops working. Testing further I discovered that I could again mount from konqueror-user, and that in turn made konqueror-root able to umount one of the shares (but not the other). At that point both links on the desktop showed "not mounted" while the shaers where mounted...
I can mention also that the links on the desktop change icon depending on mounted/umounted. Well, they seem to get confused when I use konqueror, showing "mounted" only when the pointer is over them, or showing mounted when umounted.
