Trinity simply means three-fold or three-ness.
There are many trinities. There are even many religions with
trinities. At least one religion - Hinduism - has multiple
trinities.
What TDE is not is "Holy Trinity Desktop Environment".
If we're inventing folklore, I'd say Trinity came in part
from TDE 3 and in part from the three sisters - squash,
corn, and beans - which are all you really need.
