yes - TDE has similar thing - the tdewallet the purpose is to provide access to the stored passwords for specific amount of time or when you unlock once

I have to sign also every time to skype or some other gnomish services. Before I install skype I remove the dependency from the package so it does not want to install Gnome Keyring
