I use the there is no spoon method and cut out the digicam middle man.
I just use kdeconnect. I put the icon thing in the autostart thing and then
the icon whatsits just show up in Trinity. You can access files pretty easy
with kdeconnect.
But that's not the only way I cheat. I also have Andsmb installed on my
android phone. And then make a samba share on my desktop and just upload
files to the share that is my desktop. But I only do that if I am lazy.
If you don't want to cheat there is something called MTP you can use to
mount the phone drive.

Hi,
Does anyone here know how to use DigiKam to download images from a
Samsung tablet? After
plugging the tablet in via USB cable, the removable media tool pops
up with two options:
Open in New Window, and Open DigiKam. Selecting Open in New Window
does nothing;
I do "Open in New Window". It opens in konqueror.
Not for me.
Make sure in the tablet that it connects as
"Mass Storage".
How would one do that? (It's not my tablet,
but my brother's;
I've never had one.)
Well, Google informs me:
"To set the Samsung Galaxy S2 to USB Mass Storage (MSC) mode, go
into "Settings > More... > USB utilities" and tap on
"Connect
Storage to PC". Then plug the USB cable into the device and
connect to your computer. The "USB connected" screen with the
large green Android icon will appear."
I dunno if that last sentence refers to the Samsung screen, or a screen
on some Windows' grotesquerie.
I navigate to the device's image folder (or
wherever I intend; such
as to a text file.) Then I copy (`cp`) (usually move
(`mv`) is not
permitted) to wherever I want on my workstation.
DigiKam is selected, I get its main window, but
no files are displayed
I don't use digikam, but isn't its intended use for _camera_ input?
and there seems
to be no way to navigate the tablets file system.
Suggestions are welcome.
I seem to be able to navigate whilst in konqueror.
What does .../syslog , or .../messages, or `dmesg` show you?
dmesg:
| [725210.239204] usb 1-11: new high-speed USB device number 17 using
xhci_hcd
| [725210.388939] usb 1-11: New USB device found,

SAMSUNG_Android
| [725210.388951] usb 1-11: Manufacturer: SAMSUNG
| [725210.388954] usb 1-11: SerialNumber: ________________
Well, that looks "OK",
but I dunno if there is something absent -- if anything -- from that
output.
