IMO, it makes perfect sense. Quicklauncher is a quick way to launch
applications by clicking on their icons rather than finding the application
in the menu. Drag and drop for a quick launcher means you can drag an
application to the QL and the application will be added to it.

That is so. I was looking for a way to either add multiple panels on the
right and/or left edges of my screen so that there would be more room for
icons, to simulate the way that the system tray applet works. QuickLauncher
does that, but I lose the drag 'n drop capability that plain application
icons provide.
