Alexandre,
Looks really good! But I see PCLinuxOS is now a rolling release; will that
cause problems with TDE someday? If I install it, I want to be sure it'll
be a stable system.
Good question! As of now, I have my system fully updated with no problems. I have a newer
version of firefox and vlc media player. Updating PCLOS is not supposed to create
problems. The TDE packages are created by Francois Andriot and I don't know how much
TDE will change with the next releases. If the changes to TDE are major (as in the R14
we'll see in some months), the thing to do would be to go in the PCLOS control center,
choose back GDM as a session manager if you have changed your session manager to TDM, log
out and choose IceWM as the window manager. Then, from the instructions given by Francois
Andriot, probably remove all the Trinity packages, clicking on Update and on Mark all
upgrade. Then you could reinstall TDE. After that, you could log out, choose TDM as a
desktop environment and use the new TDE.
I will also do a new version when we'll see a new version of TDE.
