I did too after installing Slávek's patch, as it has worked for me so

maybe I have good news for you! I have prepared small patch for
tdelibs. In my tests this patch successfully prevents dead-lock
in kdesktop. See:

Updated packages containing proposed patch is already included in
the preliminary-stable-builds. So, update, test and report the
results!
