On another partition I run the above exegnu (with a
few problems). I
would like make sure that TDE is installed on it directly and not on
top of something else like one of the Ubuntu desktops. Should I add
Slávek's repos to sources.list, update, and upgrade? Am not sure what
to add and don't have the public key for http://mirror.xcer.cz.

The exegnu builds have Slávek's repos already configured in
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/tde.list .. also the key is preconfigured.
Please don't add duplicates in main sources.list or you get problems!
Note there are updated builds since, latest should be the same as TDE
