I lack your vast experience, having used KDE only since a few weeks before the release of
KDE-1.0 and having even once written a little something about it:

And in those days and many since, I have endeavored to assist people, as do many here, but
there also comes a time when one asks questions, occasionally seeking to push TDE into
areas of computing that show promise -- such as high-pixel-density devices. But I would
never criticize those who came relatively late to the game.<g>
