Hello Baron,
Not with my Debian Jessie, TDE 14.0.1
I can run Iceweasel and Kmail together.
Why iceweasel should complicate the life of Kmail ?
(or vice versa).
André
Good question :-)
If Kmail is running then I can start Iceweasel and use both. It was
clicking on a mail link on a web page, nothing happened, so I clicked
to start Kmail manually and it wouldn't start up.
I closed both programs and opened Iceweasel. Kmail failed to start.
I did this several times just to see if it was a one off, before
posting to ask if anybody else see this.
I'll reboot and try it again.
Dear Baron,
1] Try to change in the Iceweasel's mail's link configuration,
by another MUA (as Claws-mail or Dovecot...).
Maybe, if you choosed kmail in Iceweasel's configuration,
could make Iceweasel angry, but why ? there is no reason.
2] Did you open Iceweasel in a Konsole to see the messages ? :
$ iceweasel -safe_mode
and test if Kmail opens normally.
or
$ iceweasel
and reads the message... as "segmentation error"...
If yes (or even no) :
3] Remove (--purge) completely Kmail and Iceweasel,
and reinstall them.
Remove your directory ~.mozilla and the extensions, plugins as Flashplayer,
before remove it.
(try to save your datas before, some of them must be important !).
In my system, Iceweasel closed suddenly.
It's what I did, as described above, doesn't matter with the datas,
and now Iceweasel works fine without closing all of a sudden.
But my couple iceweasel - kmail always worked good together.
Hope it helps !
André
