Figures. But if I had to switch distros (which I won't have to thanks to
Slavek) I'd go with one that officially maintains KDE3 anyway, and the only
one I know of is SuSE.
Debian stable just isn't a good desktop distro. Either it's outdated or you
include backports which means they are not as thoroughly tested as the
mainline packages or you go testing if you dare partake in a ride that might
get bumpy.

Yes, as I said, I am a Debian user. This sort of thing is partly why! :-)
But nightly bulids would not claim to be stable or complete.
