Hi Tim,
On Hardy it seems to work properly with the script. (Seems I was mistaken on how it exactly works in my earlier mail.)
After I used kdmtheme on Hardy I got an extra file /etc/default/kde.d/30_kubuntu_default_settings, which contained the settings for the new theme.
In Karmic, kdmtheme-kde3 changes the file /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc directly however, which doesn't work together with the init script.
I also noticed an extra kubuntu_02_confchanges.diff patch for kdmtheme in the Hardy source which is not Karmic source. I guess this may change kdmtheme so it works with the scheme from the init script and kubuntu-default-settings.

Hi Julius,
I'll have to look into it further, but no, it wasn't working on any of the machines I have access to. Maybe I missed something.

Hi Tim,
Are you sure about that? I looked at the init script and it seems to do a grep on the kdm config file. When you use the theme selector, it should override the value causing the grep to fail and not include the default theme.

Hi Julius,
That directory was removed because it *completely* breaks the ability to change the theme to anything else.
Have you tried installing kdmtheme and selecting the Kubuntu theme from the Control Center?

Hi,
It seems I'm still not able to sign up to Bugzilla. I don't get the sign up e-mail when I fill in my address.
The reason the Kubuntu KDM theme doesn't show, is because the directory kdm-settings in the source and when installed /etc/default/kdm.d is missing from kubuntu-default-settings-kde3. Is there a reason this was removed? It would be nice if it could be added back, so the Kubuntu theme in KDM would work again.
Thanks, Julius
