So far I am quite happy with TDE on Mageia-2, but I wish I had known about your suggestion earlier today: "Before you login into TDE, switch to tty[1-6] and login as user. Then, 'cp -a .kde .trinity', go back to login window, log into TDE, and look around"! I have been delaying moving to Mageia-2 because of the poor state of the Akonadified KMail, but now with TDE installed I am hoping - after trying TDE for a while - to move over to Mageia-2 permanently.
