All,
From time to time I create a new kdm and ksplash theme. If anyone is interested, here is
the latest (link good for
30 days)

I have the artwork so changing KDE/TDE can be done relatively easy. If interested, let me
know and I can post a
link (probably on digitalblasphemy or the like)
Hi David,
if you make it available under GPL, sure why not? We can add it as an extra
theme available to users after rebranding
to TDE :-)
Cheers
Michele
Sure, everything I do is GPL, So that's not an issue.
All previous KDM and KSplash themes I've done are on deviantart under
drankinatty, but for some reason, there upload widget wasn't taking the zip
file of the themes tonight. I've go a ticked open with them. I've probably
have 30 themes over there for everything from E16, to WM-II, Fluxbox, Compiz
and KDE3. I've not had this upload issue with them yet. Of course here I could
just send somebody the tar.bz2 files. If we can't get DeviantArt working
again, we'll go that route.
I finally was able to upload a .tar.bz2 as an X11 Cursor category. I hate when
sites change the way they work.
The matching set is:
kdm theme

ksplash theme
https://www.deviantart.com/drankinatty/art/Kdedigital-Moodin-tar-835678322
desktop wallpaper
https://www.deviantart.com/drankinatty/art/KDEdigital-1600-835598187
All are creative-commons share-and-share-alike licensed (that is what that
site does). Since I am the author, they are GPL2 as well.
For system-wide install, just extract the files and copy the kdm theme to, e.g.:
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/themes/
Then I just edit "/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc" and set:
# Whether the greeter should be themed.
# Default is true
UseTheme=true
# The theme to use for the greeter. Can point to either a directory or an XML
# file.
Theme=/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/themes/kdedigital_kdm
(editing kdmrc directly prevents the theme manager from wiping the comments
from the file)
For the ksplash,
/opt/kde3/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/
you can then just open kcontrol->Appearance & Themes->Splash screen and select
it. If you cannot install the ksplash theme globally, you can just choose add
new them and choose the tar.bz2 file and it will install to your ~/.local
directory.
