The reason I didn't use PayPal to donate to TDE is that the TDE donation page says not to. I haven't had any trouble with it otherwise, and it has saved me from unscrupulous vendors several times, including a substantial item purchased from Walmart who, like so many nowadays, routes its customer "service" through a boiler room in India. They jerked me around for weeks. I complained to PayPal and had my refund in half an hour.
I'd say that was unusual, my experience has been somewhat less than stellar. I sold something on fleabay a decade+ back and never rx'd the money. Big deal, less than $20, did not affect the length of my ladder up the side of the pig. Another time they refused to connect me with the vender to complete the deal for 4 damned days because I was 2000 miles from my home machine & trying to use a winblows box, costing that tv station about $10k/day in lost revenue because the whole commercial player it was built around needed a $50 scsi card. I was at the time doing consulting broadcast engineering, making use of my CET certificate. Now I'm 90 and really retired. But I'm still lurking.
