Trying to setup a clients new email. The new client is

the receiving says it is checking account xxx for new mail but that is far
as it goes. No error messages popup.
Never used ssl/tls before do not know where to look for error mressages.
Searched the trinity user archives, not much mention of imap/ssl.
Thanks
"Bug 1287 - kmail does not honor the "Forever" option when accepting ssl
certificates"
I found this bug, Bug 1287,. It started in 2012 and has been reopened, most
recent comment #18, Kristopher, 8/28/2015. This looks similar to what I am
experiencing.
I do not get pop-up dialogs about the certificate. My error message is a time
out connection error..silently failing.
Google suggests kmail in kde 3.5.x had issues with retreiving mail with ssl.
This has been fixed in KDE4's Kmail.
