In the proces of upgradeing my desktop from trinity v3.5.13 to r14.0.0, I am confronted with a unreachable mirror.

Yes, I'm noticing a problems since yesterday evening. You now have two options:

1) Change apt source to any particular official mirror - for example http://tde-mirror.yosemite.net/trinity/

2) Instead of official R14.0.0 use an alternative apt source 'preliminary-stable-builds', where are preliminary packages for the upcoming R14.0.1.
