But not by default. KControl is there by default. One of the
strengths of Debian is the fact that there is so much software you
can install if you want. There is even a compiz-core-trinity
package, and a lot of others to go with it, for those who like bling.
I do not suppose Alexandre still trying to
convince us the benefit
of KDE4. Alexandre simply likes shiny appearance, which has for
example KDE4. Although I personally prefer the sober classic look,
I'm glad for Alexander's efforts. For others, it says: "Do you wish
classic desktop environment, but with the shiny appearance? Trinity
is there for all - even for you!"
I stand outvoted. I feel constantly threatened by this "modern" bloat
and bling, which Alexandre seems to love and to want to impose. And I
still do not accept that KDE4 is "more intelligent" than TDE in any
way that I can think of.
If we get those new wallpapers, can we delete some others, rather than
increase the number? Maybe delete twice as many as we add? I would
be in favour then! There is always the "get new wallpapers" button.
I agree that most of the wallpapers that are there by default, are
pretty awful.

No need to worry. I'm also not a fan of shiny appearance. For example, compiz
is for me totally useless thing. So I will take care to preserve the sober
classic look.
That you're reminded "get new wallpapers" is a very good idea! Linked to
this
is that we probably had for these downloads establish own source independent
from KDE sources.
A comprehensive theme of shiny appearance could possibly be as a separate
package. To those who want it, would then be able to simply install a shiny
theme package.
