Oh my! I changed "Keyboard input" to
"Shift+Return" and "Condition" matches the openscad window class, now
it works as expected 😄
On a sidenote, "Shift+Enter" does not work. Is ther a difference between
"Enter" and "Return"?

Re shift+enter: do you mean it does not work as shortcut or it does not enter the key
"shift+enter" ?
