I've just (2 weeks ago) done a complete wipe and install Jessie with
R14 on my machine. Its different from PCLinuxOS in many ways and
seems to have some anoying bugs. Not least Synaptic doesn't work !
The cursor changes and then it dies quietly. Apt is fine as I would
expect. Silly things, but no show stopper :-)
re synaptic, on my new Jessie/R14 install the 'synaptic' executable is
in '/usr/sbin' which is not in my user path.
In kmenu edit The icon to start synaptic in the start menu uses 'synaptic'
as the command.. path issue again...changing it to '/usr/sbin/synaptic' will
work,. I set the 'run as a different user' to root. You will be ask for
admins password if you have tdeudo setup.
