up _only_ two references to the error message, and one of them

Only I do not see that he ever got a reply, nor do I see any fix or
work-around for the problem.
"display" shows amarok_rocks.jpg here without problems (R14.0.0). There
has to be a difference in settings. Just a shot into the dark: Can you
have a look in Settings>Appearance&Themes>Colors if you have checked or
un-checked "Apply colors to non-TDE applications"? Mine is un-checked.

I do not know how I would ever drill down to something that obscure to
see if it affected the problem. That you came up with the solution is
impressive!
