We've seen you had already problems with your installation. What exactly is not working now?
Just configure the layout and leave external xkb disabled in the config tab.
Then pressing Left CTRL+ALT+"k" should work. When using cyrillic changing back does not work. I remap therefore the keyboard switching shortcut to Left CTRL+AL+Right - works perfect in any language/layout.
