Please reboot, start with a clean sesson and try again. Don't start any TDE program
before "tdeinit". Then try "kcontrol" - it should be populated.
If you get the same errors on "tdeinit", try to kill "tdelauncher":
$ killall tdelauncher
$ tdeinit
$ kcontrol
@ .xsessionrc: you'll have to create it.

when I run that script I have:
[tdeinit wrapper] Warning: socket connection failed: : Connection refused
[tdeinit wrapper] Error: Can't contact tdeinit!

[dcopserver] It looks like dcopserver is already running. If you are sure
that it is not already running,
remove /home/sacarde/.DCOPserver_sacarde-desktop__0
and start dcopserver again.
