I installed from Arch AUR repository. It's installed in /opt

My second problem is:

I do not see any option in the menu for Shutdown, Suspend or Hibernate.
I only see Logout. I have enabled the options in kcontrol.

Methinks this could be related to hal. Do you have hal running and functional?

hal is not set to run on boot but if I start it (hald --daemon=yes), then logout / login, nothing changes.
